I've been looking at Total Fitness Nottingham's website and see they sell Spinervals DVDs in multi-pack format. 5 DVDs for £82.50. This sounds like a good Xmas present for myself ;D
There are so many of them that i don't know which 5 to go for.
My biking is probably my strongest discipline.
I'm training for IMUK 2007.
Can anyone recommend 5 to get ?
Thanks

To ask others what Spinervals you should get kind of missed the point of training. You should be asking yourself what problems you have on the bike then seeing if they offer anything to fix it.
I had a load of them and flogged them all to simonM once I'd worked out there are only so many things you can do on the turbo and Spinervals re-mixes those few things over and over again - they're all very similar sessions.

I'm not badmouthing them, just making a few comments. If you have a turbo but not sure what to do with it then they'll certainly help to get you up to speed. But, again, quite a few of them are very similar so don't duplicate them. For eg, the Aero Base Builder one's - all the same so just get the compilation one if you want anything from that section. The Time Trial one’s are basically strength sessions and are similar to Hillatious and the other strength based one’s I can’t recall the name of.
If I had to pick some I’d go for: Timetrialpalooza – very simple session, similar to one that now forms the basis for my winter training. Long intervals, starting at 20 minutes, reduced by 5 minutes each time but go up in intensity. Hillatious – Aimed at hill climbing but is a good strength session. Tough Love – for those cold/wet Sunday’s where going out is dangerous and you have a desire to kill yourself on the turbo. ABB The Compilation – Base work for your easier days.
I’d steer clear of any of them that include polymetrics or ply-whatever-it’s-called as he puts them in at the wrong point. I’ve heard mixed reviews, some people love them while others loathe them.

I like them as I found it very hard to get motiviated on the turbo before trying them.
Andy is right though in that you need to ask yourself what your weaknesses are and then choose which DVDs will target those weaknesses

I bought Aero Base Builder 5 a while ago and have done it a few times now... have to say I love it, so much better than hammering away on the turbo or trying to do a workout, normally I would do an hour tops, get bored and not really have had a quality workout. With ABB I get a 1h30min workout that I know is correct for base building or recovery days. Ive asked for some more for christmas Timetrialapolooza, Have Mercy (The Sequel) and Timesaver.

I have the Aero Base Builder V - The Compilation and Time Trialapalooza, and whilst I think these are fab, I don't think I need to purchase any others as I have what I want now.
