I've just bought a couple of copies of the 'Womans guide To Running' by Liz Yelling for a few of my female family members who have just started running. I recommend it, it's really well laid out & written in a non-intimidating fashion. It get's my thumbs up so if you want something to kick start any girls you know who fancy giving running a whirl, this is the book for them!

Thanks helen -
It may be too subtle for Wife, though ... but worth a try if she's serious about getting in shape.

One of the things I really liked about it is that the pictures in it aren't all of skinny blonde models running up white sandy beaches! My Aunty's just started running but hasn't got a clue about what to do & so I thought it would be perfick for her because it has training schedules in it that look do-able to a novice.

Cool ... Wife would be looking at running 2-3 times a week, in addition to cycling to work 4 days. She'll be doing an Ironman in no time.
