Week off should do it then you can start training again for the Vitruvian, a couple of time trials then the Ballbuster.

You never recover - instead you enter more of them....
So far I've done 3 different things after my 3 IM distance races - everybody is different and I've found recovery gets easier with practice...
IMUK05 - I had a bad cold for a week afterwards so couldn't train anyway, then started back with some easy swimming and cycling, adding some easy runs after 2 weeks and raced the Vit at 3weeks TLD06 - started easy swimming and cycling after a couple of days, a gentle run after a week and back pretty much into full training after 2 weeks GrandCoulmbian06 - spent the following week doing some easy hiking, then a week later did a 65mile charity ride, was back into marathon training after 2 weeks.

Take 3 months off - do lots of sleeping, eating, drinking & partying. Spend 6 weeks attempting to start training but fail and then realise you are going on holiday at New Year so need to wear a bikini and finally get going I think I might have a lot of work to do for IM CH
