From what I understand, TT has been taken offline as it's still being fixed.

I did get to briefly view it earlier but couldn't log in.
Was it because of further hacking or cos of general errors?

What I've been told is that it has been taken offline by tt as it still isn't ready. No hackers involved this time.

Hi everyone,
The site should not have been set live this morning. The server automatically reset the firewall rules, so you could get back in. It's still not secure and hence I have taken it offline - it has not been hacked again.
Cheers,
Gareth

I wonder if TT Gareth has considered posting a holding page at tritalk.co.uk including a link to this forum? There must be many who don't realise what has happened. Best of luck to him - will be interested to hear how the hackers got in. Particularly as I host a phpBB forum on my club's website! Thanks also to elastigirl for setting up this forum - so much for us all getting a few days work done!

Don't know if he can do that if the site is down? There is a link to here on Runners World and on the Triathletes Homepage. - and there are 61 members here now So a lot of people have found their way here. Plus, there have probably been a lot of people coming on as guests just to read the posts and find out what is going on, without posting.

I would have thought he could just upload a new index.html file in the root folder - although I guess if he's using his server to test the security mods maybe he wants to leave the whole site offline.
Alternative would be to just forward the tritalk domain (via his webhost) to another website where a holding page is placed. Or to this site! That can normally be done pretty much instantly and turned off just as quickly.
That way he could continue to work on his server in the meantime.

Good plan ob1. I didn't think it would take this long, but now as we have a good temporary home it's a good solution. I've simply forwarded tritalk.co.uk to here. Changes will take a few hours to propagate so don't be worried if something old comes up in the meantime.
