1. Didn't get up for swimming - failed session 2. Didn't turbo at lunch, meeting ran over - failed sesson 3. PB'd 30 min turbo challenge, 7.12km. 4. Drank lots of red wine.

now mildy regretting the last two. Thankfully my auto shutdown facility kicked in before I could do any more damage. OK, it is 7.38am and I an in the pool in 22 minutes for 90 minutes of orchestrated hangover remedy. Better get dressed. Onwards and upwards TTers

as I have not posted all week, then a quick summary. Monday: 11.30am Physio to get the all clear for the back Monday: Swim session 5 x 400m plus w/ups and w/downs Tuesday: 50min turbo Wed: Swim session 10 x 200m plus w/ups and w/downs Thur: 1hr turbo Fri: Swim session 4 x 250m, 2 x 500m plus w/ups and w/downs ...week off from running to give the back a bit more time.

22km run, 2:01 (dammit, why always the odd 1?), avHR 157bpm, 330 metres ascent. 1st lap: 40:27 - 157avHR 2nd lap: 41:10 - 156avHR 3rd lap: 40:04 - 160avHR How's that for no idea of how to pace a run?

I use MemoryMap to plot elevation and distance. It'll give you profiles like THIS (site seems to be down at the moment!). HRM is a Timex Ironman that will measure distance and speed but I don't use that bit as it's temperamental.

At last I have got my training going again, 30 min TT, and 10mile effort followed by an hour at the gym doing weights and core excersises.

SwimShack session in the morning
2hr Turbo in Z2 in the afternoon. Managed to finish with average speed of 20.8mph! Watched the movie "The Island" whilst doing it.

Had a great run, just over 9k in 52 minutes and heart rate only went above 160 when I upped the pace at the end. Felt really in control and sorted for the whole thing and no knee pain at all. All gearing up for starting monday interval sessions to get the speed up a bit
