Any of you guys had the chance to do this event in September or know much about it? An old friend of mine who did it this year has lost his rider (retired)for next year and asked me if I was interested. He explained what it's like and it sounds very professional and a game way above my league. He didn't ask me just to make the numbers up so I'm guessing he thinks I got potential.
Perhaps I shouldn't undermine myself and give it my best shot..plenty of time to train!!
What do you think guys??

The Duo Normand is a fantastic event, do it do it do it!!!!!
You can select to have a following car (in which case you get a pro style name badge for the front of the car) all of the roads are closed and you get to start on one of those tour ramps jobbies!
It is the closest you can come to being a pro cyclist without the contract! The town shuts down for the day and you get big crowds to cheers you on. The course as I recall is fairly rolling but that shouldn't put you off. It is worth it for the atmosphere. Lots of cyclists around here do it every year as a bit of a jolly. The standard in some catagories is very high (you have a choice of about 15 different catagories to enter) and in others is a litlle more.....erm pedestrian. There will be a level for you and even if there isn't just get on your bike and do it, you wil not regret it at all.

l spent a summer when l was younger racing for "La Marignys" cycling team and all they talked about was this two up time trial at the end of the season that the town/village organised... they told me the Brits loved it, l didnt believe them.... But come race day while your soaking up the atmosphere all you see are british time triallists in their hundreds who make the pilgrimage ... its fantastic !!! the course is pretty much all rolling, straight roads and has always been windy when i've ridden it ..... its hard, well worth a weekend trip to France
