Just wondering if there is a nominated newbie event for 2007.
From discussions on here it would seem that there is a lot of activity around Stratford which is fine, but is this the one ?
Chirk is also popular with the northern lot, but it would be nice to have an "official" one where we could meet up ?

chirk is the first tri of the season ( i think ) so it would be a good idea for that one maybe ?
plus its a sprint which is a bonus too

Nope but I am told it is a really friendly well run race.
The bike is a bit undulating but hey ho, first race of the season you don't really have any expectations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1.15 would be a great time wigan.. bear in mind last years winning time was 59 mins 12secs, so must be a decent course my time target is get home in time for tea at 6pm LOL ok stupid question time now.... undulating ?? translate into idiot terms please

up n down mate.......probably nothing too steep but a few long drags maybe ??
1.15 maybe wildly optimistic, but I am working on
8min swim 40min bike 22min run plus transitions etc.......
want to push myself so I train hard......

Newbie - as in new to TT? or new to tri's... As a vetran of some 2 sprint events I would probably qualify for either definition! ;D Anyone got a link to the event website??? If it's not too far away I'd like to do it & meet some of you face to face.

You should be fine with that Wiganer mate. My first (any so far only) Sprint was Wombourne Pool Sprint and bike there was classed as "sporting" I managed... No.95 PAUL ROTHE M-Open - 01:16:39[TA] Swim: 00:07:26(37) Bike(inc T1): 00:40:20(88) Run (inc T2): 00:29:33(137) Completely bu**ered up the run due to bad lower back pain. I'm sure by the sounds of your training you'll be more than capable of beating 1:15. I'll be back at Wombourne on 22nd April as my firat race of 2007 (2nd ever) to see how my winter trianing has gone. If anyone is there then gimme a quick nudge! I'm always up for a Bacon Buttie and a cuppa after a race
