Got my letter today too
Unlikely to be fit enough to run it though so I'll decide whether I need to defer at the end of January

I just had a look through that magazine and honestly, just a letter would have been fine. 164 pages, and about 140 full of adds.

Hi I'm the Team Events Manager with the Spinal Injuries Association. Firstly, congratulations to all those people that have secured their own place in the London marathon. If you haven't decided to run for a charity please consider us. All about our work can be seen at www.spinal.co.ukWith over 30 years experience of running, including 13 marathons I aim to use all my enthusiasm and knowledge to help all Team SIA members. We also offer some fantastic incentives like Post Event Reception with refreshments, massage and showere, free running vest, advice on fundraising and training, training days, discounted accomodation and much more. See the charities link on the London Marathon website. Secondly, if you didn't get in don't be too down and let the training go to waste. We also hope to have teams (and have some places) in events like the Great Races, Adidas Silverstone Half, Edinburgh Marathon, Hydro Women's Challenge and the London Triathlon. And the good thing is the levels of sponsorship required for this events is less than London Marathon. Be great to hear from you.

Oooohhh Mikem has been well smited!!! Yes, I was one of the people doing the smiting. I just find it slightly dubious to ask people for money for something that I want to do and would be doing anyway.

Pleased to see ickle_nick is back in the frame. I sent off my application so my name would be in the ballot, I wasn't actually planning what I'd do if I actually got in

ok, so somebody tell me. I've been knocked back again, for the 3rd time. I entered at the same time as the wife, my rejection came on thursday but the wife still hasn't heard anything. Does this mean she's in or has something been lost in the post?

Does this mean she's in or has something been lost in the post? the FLM website says: If you haven't heard by 12th December please call 020 7902 0200 The cheque will have been cashed a couple of weeks ago if she got in.

Do I have to do anything now? Other than a bit of jogging, of course. I flicked through the magazine but I'm not sure what I should do. Do I need to confirm my entry?

you only have to send the form back if there is anything wrong with your details or you are deferring, you'll get another letter round about March time which you need to take with you to pick up your number when you register ... it will be nice to see you again Andy

I think you just need to keep hold of the bit of paper which lets you defer to next year Full details are sent out in March I think d'oh, not quite quick enough

Hi craig, i think we both put 3.45 down. We were planning on running it together if we both got in.

... it will be nice to see you again Andy and to see you. We'll have to discuss tactics for IMUK. Will I recognise you now you're super slim? On one side I'm looking forward to the event - it's the London Marathon. On the other I'm not looking forward to the crowds. I'd hate to get 4:01 because I got held up for the first 18 miles. I guess things will turn out OK in the end (and hopefully I'll get 3:59 or under - that would take 50 minutes off my marathon PB!).

Hmmm ! strange then that you have heard and not the Mrs, had you put seperate times, yours quicker than hers I might have thought along the lines that your time slots for finishers were full and hers were not,but maybe thats me been synical
