or Tripe-Talk vs Rimmers World as some like to refer to us ;D
Someone mentioned the idea today about a friendly head-to-head. A great idea. Maybe we can think of a decent race or two. Maybe a run of their choosing and a tri of ours for 2007?

They seem a bit frivolous for me and they don't seem to have a post-count, what is that all about?
I think we should get Markie R to take them all on!

There seems to be a lot of talk on both sites about the Stratford Tri, would that be worth considering?

Why not make it a series? Start with the New Year's Day 10K (my suggestion back on RW before elastigirl came to the rescue). Okay, so it *is* my race, but I think it would be great even if I didn't have a vested interest. £10 affliated, £12 non-affiliated...nice goodies...excellent marshalls...already a couple of RW guys/gals signed up. www.serpentine.org.uk/events/nyd10k/

i reckon: two events 1. their choosing 2. our choosing (although I doubt ironman uk is fair.....or is it? - like most team results we take the total (added) of top 3-4 positions. say to include at least 1 female? and thats all that needs to be done. just make sure we get the turnouts and calculate at the end. - maybe we could wear pirates and tt gear to recognise each other.

There cant be much to do on their forum if all they talk about is running. I would miss the swim wars, I mean discussions.

I've got Runners World and Tri Talk set up as my favourites. I do know a few of them have done Ironman on there and they have done sub 10hours. They do have separate section just for Triathlon and I'm sure a few of you have looked on there. I think there's a lot we can learn from each forum but do think TT is far more professional site. I like to go on the mara forum leading up to the London mara and also getting tips from Mike Gratton for training.

There cant be much to do on their forum if all they talk about is running. I would miss the swim wars, I mean discussions. Swim Wars: These little-known outbreaks between the true believers and the infidels of the Dark Side were very brief but very violent. They ended abruptly when Yoda dropped his lightsabre in the pool, instantly vaporising both sides....

Thingy thing things? What??
Anyhows - the events mentioned were just suggestions. There's quite a lot of the Pirates doing Stratford, along with some people we've encouraged to come and give tri a go. I wouldn't say it's one of our favourites as there was only 4 of us there last year.
An Oly was suggested and Windsor seems the logical one to go for. Then there's a number doing the Big Woody and Bala is a pretty popular warm up event on RW.
But I don't think we can take you on at any of the above events as we'd get thrashed, hence it will have to be a more obscure event - best bike crash, best mistake, most water bottles dropped, Dragon Boat racing or something like that.
You'd probably beat us at a run race as well.
